Trying To Catch Up

So life has been crazy lately.  Surprised?  Nope, didn't think so.  A lot has happened in the last few weeks.  I have a lot that I want(ed) to blog about but just didn't have the time.  So here goes a bullet point list of things that are on my mind:

  • Wow, two kids is tough!
  • Cayden is doing great, just wish he would sleep at night
  • Adalyn is such a good big sister
  • Speaking of Adalyn, she is growing up way too fast
  • Abby got put back into hospital after birth to get healthy (scary for a while); she is doing great now
  • Thankful for all the family and friends that helped us out during our hospital stays
  • Can't believe my paternity leave is already over
  • Speaking of paternity leave, I think that was the best two weeks to have off with the Olympics being on almost the whole time
  • I slacked on workouts for a couple of weeks
  • I have really slacked on my diet and watching what I put in my body, need to work on that
  • Thankful for all the family and friends that are bringing us meals every other day since Cayden's birth
  • I started back with my 4:30AM workouts on Monday
  • Lack of sleep is not fun, but the workouts help give me more energy and make me feel better about myself
  • My Nike+ SportWatch GPS is amazing
  • I am only using Nike+ rather than RunKeeper now; customer support is unmatched with Nike
  • Since I started running in March 2012, I have run a total of 274.07 miles with an average overall pace of 8'05"/mile
  • Cayden was born on July 26th, I didn't start back running until August 6th :-(
  • Happy to be back running now though, here are my recent runs:
    • August 6th - 5.01 miles with average pace of 7'45"/mile
    • August 9th - 7.18 miles with average pace of 7'46"/mile
    • August 11th - 9.02 miles with average pace of 7'50"/mile
    • August 14th - 6.28 miles with average pace of 7'55"/mile
  • I have three races/events that I am going to attempt in September:
    • September 8th - Extreme Rampage - 4 mile mud and obstacle race
    • September 22nd - CASA's Run for Kids' Sake - 10K Road Race (6.2 miles)
    • September 29th - Refuge for Women - 5K Road Race (3.1 miles)
  • I feel silly admitting it, but I am a bit nervous about the road races.  These will be my first ever and that scares me
  • I have come to the conclusion that with training and working out the way I do, I am destined to be injured in one way or another at all times
  • I am addicted to the game SongPop on my phone (just to add it to the others that I am already addicted to)

OK, that is all for now.  If you made it this far, thanks for reading and keeping up.  I hope to be more regular with my blog posting.  Until next time blogosphere...

Two kids is hard...but it gets easier! Our mud run is in like 7 weeks and I haven't ran since Father's Day. You will rock the road races. Have more confidence in those fast little legs of yours!
