Updates and a First...

Welcome back blogosphere!  I wanted to do a quick update and also tell you about a first I had over the weekend.

First things first, baby C is doing great!  Both him and mom are doing well and are healthy.  His sleep, or lack there of, was really driving us crazy!  OK, more Abby than me since she really steps up on nights when I have to work the next morning.  But for the past (almost) week, baby C has been getting a bit more routine.  The last few nights, he has been getting up every three hours.  Yes, that still is not fun, but he is still a newborn and that is to be expected.  It is also A LOT better than every 30-45 minutes!  Let's hope this keeps up!

I haven't been tracking my body measurements (weight, body fat, water weight) like I was before the baby.  I just can't seem to remember to measure at the usual time.  My steadfast routine has been thrown out of whack!  So no updates on that front.  I also am a bit afraid to since I have been consuming a lot of not so great meals lately!  But I am at least doing so in moderation.

This past week was the first week I got back to my "normal" workout routine at 4:30am.  I was able to run a good bit on Tuesday and Thursday.

I finally signed up for the 10K and 5K that I have talked about.  No turning back now...

So that means September is going to be a BUSY month for me on Saturday mornings!  I know I mentioned the names of the runs before, but here are the links (words/titles) in case you want to check them out:

September 8th - Extreme Rampage:

I am a tad scared about the first two.  The Extreme Rampage will only be my second race ever to run.  The Warrior Dash was the first.  However, this one is about a mile longer and the obstacles seem to be more extreme/challenging and there isn't much info to prepare.  I know it will be fun once I get at it, but I will definitely be nervous!  The second event in September, the 10K, will be my first ever road race!  It is scary to think about, but I think I am ready.  The third event, the 5K, is for fun and to do with some friends.

I only have one more thing to tell you about.  It is the "first" I eluded to in the title of this post.  Look what I was able to do on Saturday morning:

Yep, I ran 13.15 miles.  Yep, that is equivalent to a half marathon!  It was the toughest challenge and run yet to date. It was hard to get through.  Miles 7-8 were hard, it was a mental game, my mind was telling me to quit there.  I pushed through.  The physical challenge came in miles 10-13, my legs were feeling the run.  I still made it.  It hurt.  But it felt so good!

Well, that is all I have for now blogosphere.  Until next time...
