It's official! As of today, I have now completed phase 2 of the P90X program! Wahoo! Phase 2, in my opinion, was a little less challenging than phase 1. I can only think it was because I was used to working out routinely in phase 2 where I started phase 1 after a long, LONG hiatus from working out my muscles.
How did week 8 go? I think it went pretty well. It was the rest/stretch week; or at least that is what it is called. As a repeat, it mainly consisted of stretching, yoga, and core building exercises. Not much strength training. To say I am looking forward to starting back with the strength training next week would be an understatement! OK, so what do the numbers say after 8 weeks, well here they are:
Weight ------------------------------------------------- 151.8 lbs.
Body Fat % --------------------------------------------- 16.8%
Water % ------------------------------------------------ 60.7%
Overall, I am pleased with the results so far; both on paper and (the numbers) and in person. It has been a challenge (especially the 4:30 am alarm clocks), but I am feeling very good about myself. Better than I can remember feeling since I was in college. So what does that mean? It means I need to keep this up even after the p90x program is finished. not yet sure what that will consist of.
So what does phase 3 mean? A lot of repeats from phases 1 and 2. It is basically one week from phase 1 followed by one week of phase 2 and then repeat and then week 5 (overall week 13) is the final week of rest/stretch/core. It will be interesting to see how I do on the phase 1 exercises 5 weeks later...
I will try to post my overall results (you know, the dorky spreadsheet that I keep) tomorrow now that phase 2 is complete. Until next time blogosphere...
