I have finally decided on what my routine will be going forward now that I finished P90X. It is actually going to be quite similar to the last few weeks of P90X, but incorporate more running. I am going to keep with the P90X workouts that include the strength training, but take my cardio to the streets rather than the workout videos. That is, unless it is nasty outside or I am just not feeling it that day.
I still plan on getting up at 4:30 each morning and working out at that time (with the exception being on Saturdays of course). That time just seems to work well for our family and takes the least amount of time away from wifey and baby girl (and soon to be baby boy).
Time to show the dorky side of Jonathan again (or does it just not go away?!?!?), here is my upcoming routine:
Yes, I know, it is another spreadsheet. And YES, I do load it into my Outlook calendar so I can see what is next on my phone. Laugh all you want, that is me. :-)
Obviously, above only shows two weeks, but it repeats after that. I plan on continuing this routine until the Warrior Dash in late June. Then I will reevaluate.
Basically the workout consists of one week of "phase 1" P90X strength training that alternates with running or P90X Plyometrics each day. Then the next week is the same, but using the "phase 2" strength training workouts from P90X.
So that is what I will be doing each morning for the next few months. Let's hope I keep seeing good results going forward. That is enough boring content from me for the day, until next time blogosphere...
*** Side note: since I typed this up, I have gotten off to a horrible start! Monday went great! Then I skipped Tuesday because I stayed up late on Monday night to watch the CATS win championship #8! Then Wednesday I woke up sick, sick, sick and am now on antibiotics and just don't have the strength to get back to it. I'm hoping to pick back up in my routine on this coming Monday. ***
