Remember that post a while back where I said one of my goals is to get fit and want to jump start that with P90X? Yeah, well, that is going to happen.
I watched the into DVD today to get acquainted prepared, whatever you want to call it. Then tonight I decided to do the "fit test". This test is a series of exercises to perform and record your status on. The test will tell you if you are ready for the workout and what level you should use of the workout. It also serves as a test you are supposed to complete and compare results from pre-P90X and post-P90X to see what improvement has been made.
I will disclose my figures below, but let me tell you, I am scared! I thought I was/am in fairly good shape. Now I think I am wrong. The fit test really kind of kicked my tail! And not to mention I didn't "pass" all of the exercises. Never fear though, I am still going to proceed with the workout; I am just afraid I am going to keel over and die during the workout. Also, I am pretty scared of how sore I am going to be. I bet Abby is pretty scared of how much she will have to listen to me complain about how sore I am as well.
Without further ado, here are some stats pre-P90X and also how I did on the "fit test":
Weight ------------------------------------------------- 153.2 lbs.
Body Fat % --------------------------------------------- 20.5%
Water % ------------------------------------------------ 58.0%
Resting Heart Rate -------------------------------------- 73 BPM
# Pull Ups ----------------------------------------------- 9 (minimum = 3; PASS)
Vertical Leap ------------------------------------------- 12.75" (minimum = 5"; PASS)
Push Ups ----------------------------------------------- 29 (minimum = 15; PASS)
Toe Touch (distance from where you can reach to toes) - 7.5" (minimum = 6"; FAIL - I never claimed to be
flexible!)
Wall Squat ---------------------------------------------- 0 min 42 sec (minimum = 1 min; FAIL)
Bicep Curls --------------------------------------------- 20 (minimum = 10 curls; PASS; used 25 lbs.
rather than 20 lbs.)
In & Outs (Abs) ---------------------------------------- 35 (minimum = 25; PASS)
Heart Rate Maximizer ----------------------------------- 86 BPM
So, there it is! I clearly need work on my legs and flexibility. Hopefully I will survive this experience and will make it through the workout. No turning back now! Tomorrow will start Day 1 of P90X for me. I have been debating whether to workout first thing in the morning or at night. I think I have decided to do evenings. The thought of waking up at 4 AM just doesn't sit well with me. So I am going to have to be disciplined and motivate myself to get my rear off the couch after we put baby A to bed and workout in the basement. I think I can, I think I can... So, there it is. Wish me luck and hopefully I will keep regular updates coming.
On that note, I am tired and need to sleep. Until next time blogosphere...

How did you calculate your BF%? Your weight is kind of absurd and I reserve the right to keep confidential the reason I say so.
You can do it! I think your crazy for doing nights - I would NEVER fall asleep after being that jacked up! I totally get why you wouldn't want to rise early though...it's hard for us old parents;). Now...as p90exers will say "bring it!"
