So Hard To Say Goodbye...

First off, don't worry, I am not saying goodbye to blogging!  This post is based on the Boyz II Men song that we all know.  For me, it was in my younger days, maybe middle school-ish or younger and have always liked it since then.  OK, I was curious, so I just checked and it was released in 1991, so I was 11.  Well, anyway, here it is on YouTube except I linked the version with the lyrics rather than the video:

Back to the topic at hand.  This song. What does it mean?  Obviously it expresses how hard it is to say goodbye to someone or something.  Why am I blogging about such a thing?  Well, we all like to read and know about the pretty side of life, but sometimes things happen that aren't so pretty and causes us to grieve.  This song came on my earbuds this morning and reminded me about some of the sad things that have happened recently, not so recently, and so forth.  There have been many things that this song makes me think about, some I will mention, others will go unmentioned.  Losing my dad, it has been a few years, but still hurts to think about.  All the unanswered questions, etc.  Relationships that are breaking up, struggling, divorces, etc.   Sickness, death, cancer, evil...

All of those events/things come to my mind when I think of this song.  Why do those things have to happen?  I can't answer that; nobody that I know of can.  So then the song reminds me to not focus on the "bad" but focus on the "good times".  THAT is a tough thing to do.  To not question the why or how, but rather just soak in the good times, the good memories, the laughs, etc.

Well, I think that was enough of a depressing post, don't let it scare you away!  I'm just trying to be real :-)
